SUBMIT YOUR STORY
EVERYONE OF US HAS AN UNIQUE STORY
(The different ways we respond to our own stories)
The kinds of personal written stories we're seeking to showcase on our website, social media, and publicity:
-
Mini-Bites' Stories composed of a few words or sentences up to stories that are (2) pages (approximately 6000 characters w/spaces)

-
From adults of all ages, older teens, and parents can submit stories written by their kids

-
Writers submitting agree to receive one round of proofing and feedback and from Catering2Us advisors before a final draft of their story is published
We seek to connect with writers who love getting (and giving) feedback -- to use or not use as they want. They understand that even receiving feedback you disagree with can push you to new ideas and clarity.
-
Writers submitting agree with the Catering2Us Manifesto:

STORY SHARING GAME PLAYERS
Need help seeing the tales of determination, wonder, whimsy, and even genius that can be found in your everyday life? (Or trying to get your family and friends to see their lives differently?)
Want to be like Dorothy? Waking up from a dreary life in grey Kansas --- and suddenly seeing a door that opens to colorful Oz and the excitement of setting off on a journey of discovery ? That's what life will begin to feel like when you do the Story Sharing Game's fun exercises and lessons. (It will teach you what Dorothy learns -- the ability to journey and change is always in you.)
When you play the Story Sharing Game you'll compose short mini-bite stories that you tell orally. We invite you to go the next step and write out your story and submit it. (It's OK to get a friend or relative - including your kids -- to be a co-writer and help turn your story into written words.)

On the Submission Form please indicate that you are using the Story Sharing Game to help your development as a StoryTeller. Getting your feedback and suggestions for how to improve the Game is as important as getting your stories.
MAGICIAN'S WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS
The Story Sharing Game Creator is offering for free her Magician's Workshop on a limited basis to adults and older teens who want to facilitate Story Sharing Game groups or otherwise volunteer to help develop and promote the Game. To become a Game facilitator after taking the workshop you must first submit a written mini-bite personal story of your own.
ALREADY A STORYTELLER ?
You do not have to play the Story Sharing Game or take the Magician's Workshop to submit a story. Just make sure you follow our guidelines and read the Catering2Us Manifesto !

We'll check that you story is mini-bite length (maximum is 2 pages or 6000 characters w/spaces), and it follows the spirit of our Catering2Us Manifesto. Then we'll send you one round of proofing and feedback. You'll decide if you want to change anything, and then send us your final draft.

IMAGE & TITLE FOR MEMOIR
You are encouraged to come up with a title for your memoir and supply a photo, original artwork (you don't have to be a great artist to make a fun collage or cartoon-like drawing), or even a short video to go with your story. If you don't include a title or image with your story, we will create a title and image. (YOU DON'T WANT THAT !)

HOW YOUR MEMOIR WILL BE SHOWCASED

Your memoir will go up as a post on our site's blog, and then be listed on the theme page it falls under (with its title, image, opening line, your name* and a link to the blog post). Readers will be able to make comments, and you will be able to respond. Your story (or an excerpt from it) might be included in the Catering2Us monthly newsletter, on social media posts, or in our promotions.
(*You can choose to be known publicly by
just your first name or initials or favorite animal,
but we need a real name with your submission.)

RIGHTS
By submitting your story you are granting us rights to publish your story and use it in posts, educational and promotional materials to help publicize the Catering2Us project. You retain all other rights and can reuse your story as you wish.
(Maybe your short memoir will inspire you
to write a longer story or a script!)
