A SCRIPT IS NOT A STORY
You can love to read — and still feel lost on page one of a film script. It doesn’t read like a story because it isn’t one. It’s a blueprint — a working document for actors, designers, directors, and crew who will fill in what isn’t written and transform words on a page into a living, pulsating film.
REMOVING THE FILM STUFF
To help you focus on the characters — and on how their words and relationships might remind you of people you know — I’ve pared down the script, removing formatting, action, and visual cues so you can focus on the living story that makes the series both relatable and timely.
BECOME THE CHARACTER (YOUR VERSION OF)
What remains is the dialogue alone, so it reads like a play. Go ahead — read it aloud and step into the characters. The lines are incomplete until an actor brings them to life, which is why the same role can feel entirely different depending on who plays it.
WHAT DID IT MAKE YOU THINK OF ?
To push your thinking further, you’ll find DISCUSSION QUESTIONS after each scene. Look for the secret message behind the words — the feelings, thoughts, or intentions that aren’t written or said, but that you can guess from how someone acts, what they don’t say, or what the scene reminds you of in your own life.
