BROOKLYN SMALL/NO BUDGET SHORT
FILMMAKERS SHOWCASE
Often the filmmakers who focus on telling the most intimate and local stories about working people are small-no budget teams who self-produce their short films (scripted and documentary), volunteering their time and turning their own pockets inside-out, while outreaching for outside support and gathering donations (including a bunch of bananas for craft services on shoot day).
THESE FILMS WERE HARD TO GET MADE BEFORE
HOW HARD WILL IT BE, GOING FORTH....
To give encouragement, we'd like to showcase these filmmakers and the films they've already produced. Their shorts are as relevant now -- often more so -- as when they wrote and shot them. Plus they have stories to share about what inspired them, what it took to get their projects completed, and how making their films impacted their lives. We want to give them a platform to remember and celebrate that they are filmmakers and storytellers. We want them to inspire you.
